How And Why To Use Apple Cider For Your Hair
March 14, 2022

Many of us have problems with our hair, whether it’s dandruff-infested, excessively greasy or dry, or lacks luster.

Here are some ways apple cider vinegar can assist with these and other hair problems.

1. It gives it luster

The hair becomes brittle simply because of its high alkaline component. On the other hand, apple cider vinegar has an acetic content that helps restore luster in the hair while also reducing dryness. Natural equilibrium is restored when the vinegar’s acidity is used to counteract the frizz.

2. It helps with dandruff and itch

ACV (apple cider vinegar) helps remove dandruff from the hair. It contains a chemical compound known as alpha-hydroxy acid, an exfoliator that cleans the scalp and eliminates dandruff. However, research has still not confirmed it as a remedy for dandruff and itch.

3. It helps to rebalance scalp PH levels

Commercial shampoos alter the hair’s PH levels. Since apple cider vinegar contains a high acidity, it can make the hair lustrous, smooth, and strong by maintaining its PH balance.

4. It removes buildup

Minerals, amino acids, and fatty acids in apple cider vinegar help eliminate buildup from the hair without using harsh surfactants.

5. It makes hair healthy

Apple cider vinegar is fantastic for hair because it includes essential nutrients that strengthen your hair and leave it looking beautiful and healthy.

How to Use Apple Cider Vinegar

  • ACV and Rosemary Rinse

Rosemary oil contains high anti-inflammatory and antioxidant elements. To follow this rinse process, boil four cups of water, and let it cool. When that is done, add three spoons of ACV and about five drops of the oil.

After you’ve shampooed your hair and applied conditioner, pour a cup of this rinse over. Allow it to sit for around thirty minutes before rinsing with cool water.

  • Using it to treat oily and dry hair

Regardless of how excessively oily or dry your hair is, you just need a solution to restore the balance. You’ll need a product or mixture that will absorb extra oil for greasy hair while not stripping your hair of its natural oils.

So, mix one tablespoon of ACV with water, apply it to your hair and rinse. It should help remove your hair’s excess oil while also preventing your scalp from becoming dry.

Consider this a form of hair treatment and try following any of these processes once a week. If it yields results, you can increase it to twice a week. However, if you want to avoid skin irritation and other adverse effects, be cautious and don’t use apple cider vinegar excessively.
